Homemade Pecan Butter

4.58 from 7 votes

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces roughly chopped raw pecans, about 2 1/2 cups
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, or to taste (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar, or to taste (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and arrange pecans in a single layer. Toast them until they start to smell amazing, about 5 minutes. Reserve to cool.
  • Once pecans are cool, transfer them to the jar of a strong blender and add the remaining ingredients. Blend on medium to medium-high speed for about 50 seconds or until desired consistency is reached. If using a Twister lid, turn it counterclockwise a few times while blending. If not using one, you might need to stop a few times to give it a stir. You can also make your pecan butter in a food processor, but that will take a little longer (5 to 20 minutes depending on how strong your food processor is.)
  • Transfer the pecan butter to a glass container and allow it to cool fully before storing it in the fridge.
