30 Authentic Brazilian Recipes
Brazil is hosting the Olympics this year, which start at the beginning of August, so I thought I would put together a compilation of delicious and authentic Brazilian recipes for you.
You know, in case you wanna eat like an Olympian… 😉
Most of the recipes below are mine, but since there are a bunch of classics that I don’t yet have in my collection, I went ahead and found some equally amazing Brazilian recipes from blogger friends so I could at least cover the basics. Believe me, not even a collection of 100 Brazilian dishes would cover all my love for this cuisine.
I am definitely biased, but Brazilian cuisine is the best cuisine in the world. So, even if you’re not into sports, I highly recommend you make some of these. I promise you won’t regret it!

I love Brazilian foods, and there were some recipes in this roundup that I’d actually never seen before and cannot wait to try!! Great compilation!
I love the sound of these recipes. Especially the coconut fudge balls, which combine two of my favorite treats!
Those are called “beijinhos”, which means “little kisses”. :) Cute, isn’t it?
This is great! I never eat at Brazilian restaurants because the ones here are usually super meat-heavy, but some of these look delicious! I love fish stew!
Oh, if you eat fish you would be just fine in Brazil. There are many authentic fish dishes! Vegan cuisine is somehow new, but even vegans can survive there. :)
Gorgeous pics and amazing collection of recipes. Bookmarked !
We had a Brazilian exchange student in 2005/06, and we did a Brazilian feast for his going away party… We had many of these wonderful dishes including fejoada and caipirinhas. I have to agree with your assessment – the cuisine is so flavorful! I need to make some these soon!
What an amazing collection of recipes! I see so many things I’d like to make. The chicken wings might have to happen when I have friends over this weekend!
Hi, Olivia!
Thank you for featuring 2 of my recipes here. What an amazing round-up — it transported me back to Brazil. Wishing you a delicious weekend!
You’re very welcome, dear! I’m so glad I stumbled upon your blog recently. I love your recipes! :)
I have been looking for a Quindim recipe to make for my husband. Thanks for sharing this one. It is the first I have read that takes as long to prepare, but should be worth it when I have the time.
I am brazilian and I eat many of these foods when I visit my Grandma.
Wonderful and varied cuisine – also can be tasty and nutritious on a very slender budget, if need be. But I’m a wine lover, and while I have had very good Brazilian wine, it is a very small producer for such a huge country, simply because only a small part has the proper climate. So I’d have to add wines from Uruguay, Argentina and Chile, and from the mother country, Portugal. The latter has been producing stellar white wines recently that are much more affordable than French and Italian ones.
I almost never eat dessert, so I’d make a poor Brazilian.
this stuff looks so good what resteraunters are these frm
Some recipes are from my blog and others are from other food bloggers! :)
I just came across your blog through a search for Brazilian recipes and loved it. I, as an authentic Brazilian, love to cook and finding the names in English of some of the ingredients, just made my day. Bookmarked this page! Great Job!
Oi Olivia. Parabens pelo teu site.
Congrats on your blog. I am Brazilian who lives in Canada over many decades. Happy I found your Brazilian recipes in English with American conversion. Other cultures (my husband is not a Brazilian) find our desserts too sweet and we use too much condensed milk, so I am trying to make them less sweeter by replacing the condensed milk with milk and less sugar.
Dando agua na boca! Obrigada👍
Just missing caldo de mandioca!!!
The food is definitely my favorite part of the Brazilian culture, thank you for letting me to experience it in my own home!
Hi, I’m brazilian and thanks God, my father was Chef and I learned to cook all those wonderful Brazilian food. I leave Brazil a 30 years ago , but the Brazilian Cuisine always will be the Favorite food around us. The good memories of my father ,amazing chef and sweet Dad teaching me how to cook.

I’m brazilian and i do eat Cheese Bread almost everyday.
People have to try it.
Meu Brasil! Saudações de Minas Gerais!🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I am from Congo and we have many of the same local ingredients as you do in Brazil. I’ve always love seeing how the two cuisines interpret them. I already make a few of these with my students and I can’t wait to try some of yours. Thanks so much for sharing!
i do not get the passion fruit ice cream
I loved the recipes!!
Truly impressive list of recipes. There is so much i can make now with this. LOMONADA is my favorite. Looking forward for more such recipes in future too.
My wife is Brazilian but not much of a cook. I am a pretty decent cook, so I do the cooking and she is happy to eat it. The problem is we live in Brazil and I am trying to learn Brazilian recipes. She has recently mentioned some kind of biscuit that is made with ground up spinach. If you know what she is talking about I would love to see the recipe.
Hi, Ray! I have never heard of that kind of biscuit and a quick Google research didn’t help. She doesn’t know the name in Portuguese?
I used this for a school project and it helped so much!! now that I have read over pretty much everything on this page I might need to try out one of the recipes hahah. this is a great article thing and helped a lot so big ups to you
